iPhone 6s is confirmed to have 2GB of ram as one lucky owner receives her iPhone almost 5 days early

Just thought I would share this on here for people who are interested in the tech specs of the new iPhone.

Someone has received their new iPhone nearly 5 days before the release date and has ran some Geekbench tests on her iPhone.

Here's the link to her Twitter account where you can see screenshots of the results, photos and video taken with the new iPhone.

I'll post some screenshots of her Geekbench scores for those who are interested.

Anyway @Anonymous I have just read those specs. Now I am not technically savvy but 2gb of ram on this 'high end new device' ?

My Note 3 is 2 years old and has 3gb.....What's that all about then?

2gb doesn't seem that impressive if honest.....Confused

From what I have read about this over time from people more savvy about this subject than myself. iOS tends to be more efficient in the ram it needs. 2GB should have been on iPhone's last year in my opinion.

It's a bit like that yeah, but reality is, iphone has less features that use the ram.

No media scanners, no stylers, no theme management, no live display widgets, no user control management etc etc.

All these bonuses come at a cost to ram, which is why were only just starting to see ios use more than 1gb of physical memory.

@viridis All of the above is gobbledegook to me.....but bear with me while I break it down..Confused

Are you saying that the iPhone 6S doesn't need additional ram because technically it isn't as advanced yet as other OS??

It has less features.
It's also more dependant on cloud tech whereas android is more aimed at the actual device.
Some parts of ios are more advanced and some parts of android are more advanced, but android definitely has more features and user control yes.

Yeah that sounds right when you think about it. Android is far more customisable than iOS, hence the need for Android phones needing more ram to run them customisation features etc.

My Galaxy A5 has 2gb of ram & that's been out 10 - 11 months already so there's nothing new or fancy about the 6S & it's 2gb ram, as usual Apple are 2 years behind everybody
