Firstly about the word Wispa used. I complained about it being filtered as I wanted to talk about a needle prick in one of my posts and it got bleeped out....
Also when I add pictures, they come from the gallery on my laptop...and I have no problems (which is strange) Though I have never attempted from my phone....but would presume it works the same?

hi @Anonymous & @Cleoriff
I was a bit shocked myself when @Toby agreed to lift the ban on the word prick - but then why can we use prick & not eg ******888 which when spelt correctly gets bleeped out
if it was good enough for the BBC in Are You Being Served for Mrs Slocombe to tell us all about her ******** than why not here on O2C
as regular viewers of the forum will know I'm one helluva Crazy Cat Lady :womanvery-happy:
just saying mindst .....

It would be useful if the list of "banned" or "bleeped" words could be published so that we can avoid all this nonsense in the first place.
And please...........don't say that could not be done because the offending words would automatically be "bleeped". You know there is always a way to by-pass any rules.

What I have problems with @Anonymous is that words that have been commonly used for years with NO problem are being bleeped..... because NOW they can be used as a swear word as well. It's as if we can't use these once common words which are still in the dictionary!
I once posted a picture on here which was bleeped out. The picture was of the Greek Goddess for moral justice and it had her name emblazoned on the picture. Her name was Dike (which is now being allowed as you see) ...but this forum only seemed to recognise the name as having a completely different connotation....

I know exactly what you mean @Cleoriff I posted an extract from a provincial newspaper and that was removed because it contained a "naughty" word that had been used in error by a student. And it is all down to this silly political nonsense that has come about whereby we must never ever do, say or even think anything that might once in 10,000 years offend someone else. Now don't get me wrong, I have no wish to offend anyone and would never deliberately set out to do so, but I think it is the height of nonsense that I should be prevented from using a word that other people "might" find offensive. In my view, and I know I am regarded by some in here as naive (add your own accents there, I don't know how to do it), I think the onus should be on those who ARE offended to state their case rather than penalising people who never intended to offend in the first place.
As to "dyke" I wonder what the censors will make of Black Dyke Band ( and they are fabulous!!!!)

Another tale... about the Black Dyke Band. My husband is responsible for booking entertainment at our Civic Hall
He booked this band because they are good and appeal to many.
He had posters created to advertise their appearance
5 days later the theatre received a deputation of 'well meaning people' with a signed petition. They were insisting posters were removed and the band cancelled...because THEY were offended by it all. (They had never heard of this band so you can imagine what they thought they were ....)
My husband gave them some background on this band and a bit of a telling off......
The deputation left 'with egg on their faces'....and slightly more educated than when they arrived
