Fresh figs are fantastic ~ thank you @pgn
The ones on my tree are so soft now that I can eat the skin with them, but I don't.
This variety is called "Brown Turkey" it is hardy.
This plant was given to me by a close neighbour who had a huge (more like massive) Fig tree growing in his garden which was supposed to be over 100 years old ~ this was part of it, the thatched cottage it was leaning on was about 200 years old.

A trip to the House and Gardens of Mount Stewart, about 85miles South-West of us, to catch a glimpse of the autumn colours:
A good day, if a misty one, driving across the country notwithstanding.

Been watching the goldcrests darting about in the sunshine in what's left of the fuchsia this morning, delightful to watch, devilishly hard to photograph close-up!
