Hi Guys & Gals,

Wimbledon starts this Monday 23rd of June 2014 to Sunday 6th of July 2014

Can Andy Murray defend his 2013 win ?

I remember the positive atmosphere when Andy managed to take the win against Novak Djokovic.  Drum

Well he did become the first man from Great Britain to win the singles title since Fred Perry in 1936.  Bouncy

The womens final between Marion Bartoli, {winner} and Sabine Lisicki was a very good final too.

Now England are out of the World Cup Football we need something else to cheer on. Cheers

Novak Djokovic wins the Wimbledon 2014 men's final, and what an awesome match it's been between these two talented sportsmen. slight_smile

Roger Federer played very well but not well enough to lift the cup and title.

sad slight_frown that Federer did not win the tournament ..... he fought well ..... I would have liked him to have beaten Sampras' record though slight_frown but enjoyed the match, particularly the fight back by Federer to make it a 5 set final

Hi @Anonymous

The matches did swing from one to the other !

How some of those returns where made I don't know.

It's a shame one of them had to lose. Lol. wink

I hear it was a good match. I did see parts of it.....(and was pleased to catch a glimpse of David Beckham in the audience):smileywink:

In a way it was sad that it clashed with the British F1....although it worked out well for my other half who can't bear tennis....Smiley Very Happy

It takes some stamina to watch a five hour tennis match no matter how good it is. My attention span alas prohibits me from sitting rivetted for what amounts to the whole afternoon. Respect to those who can sit through the whole match and take pleasure in the quality of tennis.

I had a family sporting event to attend yesterday ,the 2nd of 3 pre-season football tournaments (just how soon do these need to start?) so settled down to watch the F1 at 10pm in the evening. Thoroughly enjoy it I did too!

It was a fantastic match between these too @jonsie and tbh didn't really notice the time it actually took to reach the winning post !

Glad you enjoyed the F1.

Happy days.
