As promised, this week`s White Room Quiz is eight questions taken from various quiz books, in which the question is classed as "easy" or "medium", so everyone has a chance of winning a Thinker.

 

PLEASE NOTE AMENDED TIMES BELOW FOR SENDING YOUR PM'S WITH ANSWERS

 

The White Room Quiz is open to all members

Q4 [FILM] What was the full name [first name and surname] of the character played by Michael Caine in "The Ipcress File" ?

 

Q5 [GAMES] How many pieces does each player have at the start of a game of English Draughts ?

 

Q6 [LITERATURE] What was the full name [first name and surname] of the pilot and hero known as "Biggles" in the books by Captn W E Johns ?

 

Q7 [WORDS] What is a tine ?

 

Q8 [HISTORY] Which British Queen was married to Prince George of Denmark ? 

 

The White Room Quiz is open to all members of the Community.

 

Those who want to take part must pm [private message] me [Mi-Amigo] with their answers between 12 noon today [Wednesday 15 April] and 23.59 [11.59pm] tomorrow [Thursday 09 April]

- allowing 36 hours to pm your answers.

 

Please do not post your answers on the thread.

 

The answers - and the results for each player taking part - will be posted on Friday morning.

 

Each member will be awarded star for each correct answer. In addition, each member who gives

Each member must pm [private message] their answers to me [Mi-Amigo] after 12 noon today [Wed 15 April 2020] and before 23.59 [11.59pm] on Thursday 16 April 2020.

No member is to post any answer on the thread.

Any answer received after 23.59 [11.59pm] on Thursday 16 April will be declared void.

No googling, wiki, youtube search for answers.

 

The White Room Thursday Quizz is open to all members.

I hope new members, who have recently joined the Community, and members who have not taken part before, will join the "regulars" with this week`s "easier" quiz. 

 

Please feel free to post any comments on the questions - but not the answers - on this thread.

If you have any questions about the quiz, please ask and I will reply here.

Thanks and well done to the silver thinkers.
It was draughts that got me. Thought it was two rows of four, not three. Stupid game!

Glad you specified the game for draughts, Chinese Chequers is 10, I think - getting close to electronic Halma now 🤣

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I`m really pleased you all enjoyed the quiz.

I hope you like next week`s - look out for the Advanced Notice on Monday.

I`ve got another one of those "themed" ones lined up for a couple of week`s time, as this was popular last time I ran one.

Sorry folks.

I made a mistake with the results and want to offer my sincere apologies to @Anonymous .

She did give the correct answer to What is a tine? [not a pass, as I put in the Results] and so is awarded a star

Forgive me for my mistake.
