Thanks @Mi-Amigo  for a great quiz. Well done everyone x

@Spenny  you asked about 'all these Jethro's and Tull's?'
Not sure if you jest but Jethro Tull was a Prog Rock group of the 60's, 70' and 80's.

Ian Anderson, the lead singer was well known for playing his flute (or any other woodwind instrument) whilst standing on one leg. They were named after the 18th century agriculturist (lol)

Thank you @BobM and @Cleoriff

Pleased you enjoyed the quiz and well done on your awards.

Following on from @Cleoriff `s comment about prog-rock band Jethro Tull and @RafaC `s answer in the quiz, the band Jethro Tull released an album Aqualung with this album cover

Good quiz. Made me think, lots of rattling going on up top. I'll share my thinker with my son who helped with my answers.

I didn't like them much @Spenny. A bit too folksy and boring for my liking. 😂

@Mi-Amigo  as I didn’t have a clue on what was the correct answer for the first question, I had to take the opportunity to make a pun 😅
I'm feeling so dumb because of Q4... Vienna is obviously the capitol city of Austria, I really meant to write Venice... oh well. Thanks for the game anyway slight_smile

@Spenny  appreciate your kindness but that wouldn’t be fair I guess  😆

@Cleoriff  I’m not a huge fan either, albeit that album does have some good tunes on it 🎶

Well done everyone!

@RafaC  I always think if you are going to sing a 10 minute long song, it HAS to be of the same calibre as Bohemian Rhapsody and nothing is in my opinion, therefore it runs the risk of having 'boring' attached to it. The only group who can pull this off is Pink Floyd.

In the 60's we went to see Led Zeppelin at Earls Court. Three hours of absolute boredom (apart from Stairway To Heaven and Kashmir). 🙄

@Cleoriff my jaw dropped when I read the last phrase of your message. I L-O-V-E Led Zeppelin, pity that you've found that gig boring. I've watched many dvds of their gigs and can't say I was bored to be honest 😛
But that of course is a matter of taste.

I totally get where you're coming from with that opinion on 10+ minute songs. Some prog rock can get quite boring, as you've said, and lost into the musicians' virtuosity and ego. But I'm glad you've pulled Pink Floyd out of it, as I agree, even when they do go down that road, they're brilliant (this is just my opinion, of course). My favourite record of theirs is Meddle which has Echoes in it, the infamous 23:31 minute song. I love it.
