@RafaC

I loved Led Zep until I went to that concert. I think the biggest mistake they made (having just discussed it with Ray my husband) was it was too long. There was no support act. They were tired and that spread out to the audience. It certainly didn't help with John Bonham doing a 15 minute drum  solo!! Their set list was poorly laid out and they apologised at the end.

They did 3 more nights after the opening night we went to and they reduced their time to two hours and had a support act on. The NME did a review of the concert and they panned it. (They went to the opening night like us)

@Cleoriff That makes perfect sense. A 3 hour gig has to be really really consistent and the band has to be full of energy to engage the audience. I'm a drummer myself, but even so I wouldn't like to watch a 15 minute drum solo, even if it's John Bonham playing. So yeah, totally get it. Shame you didn't go to one of the two other nights then, bet they were better gigs overall.
The only 3 hour gig I've seen till this day that I really enjoyed was Paul McCartney's. I enjoyed so much that've seen him live twice already slight_smile

Thanks for the quiz, @Mi-Amigo! The answer being fresco for murals is an interesting one, which I'll have to make a note of.

To chime in with @Cleoriff and @RafaC's conversation, I don't think I've ever seen a three-hour gig in my life! Sounds like such a long time to watch one band (even though you have both named some legendary artists 😆). I was lucky enough to see the Rolling Stones in 2013 at Glastonbury Festival. That must have been 2+ hours and was amazing. Can't think of any other acts I've seen performing longer than that.

We've watched The Who do a 3 hour concert and they were superb. (Seen them about 5 times)

By the way, I'd forgotten about Echoes (Pink Floyd) I have it on now, live at Pompeii and it really is one of a kind. Just beautiful.

@Cleoriff ohhh I bet! Can't imagine how lively that band was with Keith Moon and John Entwistle in a concert.

Live at Pompeii has to be one of the greatest live performances registered on tape ever. That version of Echoes is sublime. Good shout @Cleoriff , I'll watch it again later in the evening today 😉

@lewys-gp I was lucky to see the Stones live too! It really doesn't feel like 2+ hours 🎸

We've seen The Who with madcap Keith Moon but their drummer is now Zak Starkey (son of Ringo Starr) and he is a superb drummer. Saw them at the NEC.

Also seen the Rolling Stones live at Wembley.😊

Spot the American (English) quiz book reference, @Mi-Amigo - the f in place of ph:

Great quiz, even if the stinker q was not the bad smell one, but that Jethro Tull one 😆

Amelia Earhart landed not far from here in her famous crossing, there's a museum and the "executive" lounge in the local airport here is named in her honour!

Spot the cropping of one of the photos...

Well done, everyone, and thanks, @Mi-Amigo for a joy of a quiz!
