There are two White Room Quizzes each week - one on Monday and one on Wednesday.

Each White Room Quiz will have eight questions - with two questions from four categories. 

 

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

Those wishing to take part must pm me - @Mi-Amigo - with their answers between 12 noon today [Monday] and 11.59pm tomorrow [Tuesday]

Today`s WRQ questions are two questions from each of these cateories

 

      PLACES  SCIENCE  WORDS  EVENTS

 

and one question [I`m not saying which] is a QI-style question, where the answer is not what most people think

Q4 [EVENTS - 1] Crystal is the traditional gift for which wedding anniversary?

 

Q5 [PLACES - 2] Which is the oldest National Park in the USA? 

 

Q6 [SCIENCE - 2: BIOLOGY] Otitis affects which part of the human body?

 

Q7 [WORDS - 2] What does the word "hirsute" mean ? 

 

Q8 [EVENTS - 2] If it rains on St Swithen`s Day, it is said to then rain for 40 days;

                           but when [what date] is St Swithen`s Day?  

 

The White Room Quiz is open to all members of the Community.

 

Those who want to take part must pm [private message] me [Mi-Amigo] with their answers between 12 noon today [Mon 29 June] and 23.59 [11.59pm] tomorrow [Tuesday 30 June]

- allowing 36 hours to pm your answers.

 

Please do not post your answers on the thread.

 

The answers - and results for each player taking part - will be posted on morning of Wed 01 July.

 

Each member will be awarded star for each correct answer. In addition, each member who gives

                                                                THE RULES

Each member must pm [private message] their answers to me [Mi-Amigo] after 12 noon today [Mon 29 June 2020] and before 23.59 [11.59pm] tomorrow [Tues 30 June 2020].

No member is to post any answer on the thread.

Any answer received after 23.59 [11.59pm] on Tuesday 30 June will be declared void.

No googling, wiki, youtube search for answers.

 

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

New members, who have recently joined the Community, and members who have not taken part before, are welcome to join the "regulars" with this week`s quiz. 

 

Please feel free to post any comments on the questions - but not the answers - on this thread.

If you have any questions about the quiz, please ask and I will reply here.

I have tried to make this quiz a mix of easier and not-so-easy questions, including one QI-style question

       This was the QI-style question. According to the source I used for this question, most Americans,

        wrongly, think the answer is Yosemite [founded on 1890]. Yellowstone was founded in 1872. 

 

Q6 [SCIENCE - 2: BIOLOGY] Otitis affects which part of the human body?

A6   the ear

 

Q7 [WORDS - 2] What does the word "hirsute" mean ? 

A7   hairy

btw - today`s quiz should be up on a separate thread by 9.30 - with no QI-style question this time but a couple of trickier ones...
