Just picked up this thread @Mi-Amigo

I did know the cricket question was former Conservative PM John Major ..... Much better Prime Minister than he's given credit for imhho (humble / honest) ..... his book was going to be called something like the men / women in grey = he meant the All Powerful Civil Servants who don't change their jobs at General Election time ... & ... who don't court publicity.

Thank you @Cleoriff for the little vid of Larry the Cat at Number 10 Downing Street .......  I deliberately spoilt my Postal Vote Ballot Paper ..... = ..... Larry the Cat at Number 10 Downing Street for Our Leader ... = ... Why Not ? ! ....... Larry famously doesn't get along with Palmeston the cat at the Foreign Office = they fight ! ........... there are a string of offices at the back of Downing Street xx slight_smile

Thank you @Oxonian

Pleased you found the quiz "cracking".

As for David Sutch and pirate radio

- yes he started Radio Sutch from a small boat "Cornucopia" but as crew got seasick moved on to former military tower in Thames Estauary from where he ran Radio Sutch - pirate radio music station, with very naughty night-time readings of Lady Chatterley`s Lover. Sutch later sold the station to his manager who renamed it Radio City.

Thanks @Oxonian

Yes you are right.

To explain...

Radio Caroline began broadcasting from mv Caroline on 28 March 1964 off coast of Harwich.

Radio Atlanta began broadcasting from mv Mi-Amigo on 07 Apr 1964 off coast of Felixstowe.

The two stations merged on 02 July 1964.

On 03 July 1964 mv Caroline upped anchor and sailed round the southern coast of England and up to the

Isle of Man, broadcasting as Radio Caroline [not Radio Caroline North] as she went.

On 06 July 1964 mv Caroline dropped anchor in Ramsey Bay.

On 07 July 1964 mv Caroline began broadcasting as Radio Caroline North.

That's very informative @Mi-Amigo ; there seems to be plenty of curiosity in the Radio Caroline story !

I find it fascinating. 👍
