There are two White Room Quizzes each week - one on Monday and one on Wednesday.

Today`s WRQ is 8 questions, with 2 questions on each of these categories:

   PLACES    NATURE     LITERATURE     FOOD & DRINK

 

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

Those wishing to take part must pm me - @Mi-Amigo  - their answers between 12 noon today [Mon] and

03.00am Wednesday morning.

Please do not post your answers on the thread.

The White Room Quiz is open to all members of the Community.

Each member must pm [private message] their answers to me [Mi-Amigo] after 12 noon today [Mon 01 Dec 2025] and before 03.00am Wed 03 Dec 2025.

 

Please do not post your answers on the thread.

The answers - and results for each player taking part - will be posted on Wed 03 Dec 2025.

Each member will be awarded star  for each correct answer. In addition, Thinkers will be awarded as follows

THE RULES

Each member must pm [private message] their answers to me Mi-Amigo after 12 noon today [Mon 01 Dec

2025] and before 03.00am on Wed 03 Dec 2025.

No member is to post any answer on the thread.

Any answer received after 03.00am on Wed 03 Dec 2025 will be declared void.

No googling, wiki, youtube search for answers.

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

New members, who have recently joined the Community, and members who have not taken part before, are welcome to join the "regulars" with this week`s quiz. 

Please feel free to post any comments on the questions - but not the answers - on this thread.

If you have any questions about the quiz, please ask and I will reply here.

Good quiz, well done all. I settled on "stare" as I thought rooks were collectively known as "a parliament" 🧑‍⚖️ Thanks, @Mi-Amigo 👍🏼

Interesting these collective nouns for birds. I didn't know there were so many for one type of bird!

Bird Spot says:

rooks – a building of rooks
rooks – a clamour of rooks
rooks – a parliament of rooks

 

owls – a parliament of owls
owls – a stare of owls
owls – a study of owls

It IS confusing I agree. Some birds only have one collective noun. I had no idea owls had 4!
I also thought Rooks were a Parliament.

Fascinating stuff. 😂

BTW, Crows have 7 nouns they can be called. One of which is also a Parliament!
