Very similar to Skype but so much better in my opinion. It's available on any platform and probably has more users than Skype throughout the world. It is readily available on iTunes, my wife has an iphone and we talk to each other every day on Line.

It once was free on iOS, my WA says "lifelong service" and the one from my mom (has an iPhone too) says "until xx.02.2017" (it's still like that)
First sites on FB report that many users had "lifelong" now too, but now it changed back to a date. So they're not sure if it'll be free anymore 😕

I had this tonight !
I got a notification saying Whatsapp was now free and my expiry was "lifelong" then 10 mins later another notification reverting back to my original date !!

I now read that NEW accounts will be free..
Would be unfair to people who got it after mid 2013.
Guess we have to wait and see.
