What made me happy today...

Hey guys.

In one of my old forums I was a member of (not existing anymore since this year), we had a thread where everybody just told in short what made them happy this day. Thought it would be nice for here too!

To start: I'm working for EMS and my first call today was am expected birth. So we hoped we would be able to bring her into hospital just in time. But it didn't work. I was at the patient and she just said "it's coming"... My team-mate was driving REALLY fast, it took him about an kilometer to brake - during that time the baby was just born. Even we were a really young team and not long into job, we did VERY well and even the doctors told us we did excellent.

(Our last call was a reanimation on the street, the woman did not get an own circulation again.... But I guess that's the circle of life :D)

The WHO wanted it to be used again too..

We're all insecure at the center - what will be the next days - we don't have other material as Biontech (which is still only for 80+, Rhineland Palatinate and Hamburg use Biontech for people with an appointment for Astra). 

Today I had some attenders of patients (mostly children of the 80+) who said they would take Astra just right now as they fear Covid the more. 

I hope many will see it like that.

I agree, @ComaChameleon - take whatever vaccine is available, it seems India is also slowing exports to permit their own people to be vaccinated. Supply and demand, market forces and national interests are clashing. With a date near end-March for AZ, I hope that supply problems even themselves out sooner rather than later.

So do I @pgn . I'm due my 2nd dose in April of AZ and although it doesn't matter if we mix and match vaccines according to the science, I would prefer to stay with AZ, thank you very much!

Pfizer 2nd doses are being continued for the December 1st doses...here @Cleoriff
It would be completely ridiculous not to give 2nd dose AZ to those people on time, especially the 2nd vaccination was pushed forward.
Listening to the plan it may delay the 50 year old people ... but it may be ok for them just a small hiccup.
I do not think I would be happy to mix jabs.

I wouldn't be happy mixing them either @TallTrees.

I had absolutely no side effects with AZ and whilst there is no guarantee the 2nd dose will be just the same, at least it is having the same immunology effects. We all know that different vaccines work in different ways to prevent Covid 19... so I'll stick with what I know...

They've just been talking about it on TV. Apparently it's the over 50's only (as you said,) and it will be just a glitch. It's entirely political in the European countries like France and Germany eho have two major elections coming up with Macron and Merkel.

Problem is they are putting politics before the health of their citizens.

As I understand it, you are informed of the change and you can agree or disagree to have it or not..
