I definitely read last night that he allowed 872 in who were currently being held at airports. I am sure it was a BBC news article but can't find it now. No matter ...it's the policies not numbers which are the issue.

No... he probably doesn't think at all....he seems to take 'advice' though to change his mind on certain things. I think that's a bit of a ploy if honest. Make outrageous policy change...then retract and look like someone who listens.....

Strange as you mention it...been reading Scott Adams blog (he of Dilbert fame) for a while on the subject of Trump. Makes an interesting viewpoint: http://blog.dilbert.com/post/156532225711/the-persuasion-filter-and-immigration

Why @Cleoriff you've nailed Trump's play. He wants to look like someone who listens.

The problem is he also changes his mind on a regular basis. I don't think anyone knows what he truly thinks apart from his immediate family, ie his two eldest sons Eric and Don Jr and his daughter Ivanka. They are extremely loyal and back him whatever he says and does.

His wife is also loyal but I doubt she knows the real Trump - she's not blood and can be removed and replaced. How she stayed by his side after the videos showing what he thought of women and how he treated women beggars belief. I know he's a billionaire but no amount of money could keep me by the side of such a man.

If you read the article linked to by @sheepdog It's called the Hitler Filter v The Persuasion Filter...

In psychology we call it something else...but I like the alternative ...

"The Hitler filter clearly isn’t making people happy. The people watching that movie are protesting in the streets. Meanwhile, the people who see Trump as a good negotiator looking out for the country are quite happy with the job he has done so far. The Persuasion Filter says Trump opens with a big first offer and negotiates back to something reasonable. If you don’t recognize the method, it looks crazy, random, and racist".

The main concern for me is his notorious temper, I mean the guy can't keep his cool on twitter so chance does he have at a G8 summit when ACTUAL criticisms of policy come into play?

Not to mention a close ally of the US. Australia fought with America in Vietnam when the UK quite rightly refused.

Way to go Trump!

Love it @jonsie. By my reckoning the US will be paying for the wall at that rate and Mexico will be laughing themselves silly.

Picked this up earlier on another site which wasn't as headline grabbing as the BBC puts it. What the BBC is really reporting is what a newspaper has printed rather than the facts of the call which is way down the article. What we don't know is the tone and context of the phone call conversation. However, the underlying problem is that some entrusted state official(s) has probably broken a national security act in revealing the call to a particular section of the press which only empowers Trump.

Strangely there's been little protest in the world about Australia's treatment of migrants/asylum seekers
