A number of people out of contract on legacy tariffs with Three have started to receive texts asking them to contact three about their tariffs. When contacted customers are given the option to move to a current tariff or terminate.

There's an extensive thread on Digital Spy about this and similar threads on MSE and HUKD too.

I know there's a fair few on this forum on O2 legacy tariffs so lets hope they don't get any ideas. Looks like I jumped ship from 3 to EE at the exact right time as 3's current tariffs are dire and very expensive compared to the legacy one plan

I do think the little extras they offer, like free 0800 calls and cheap 084/087 (although they will be a thing of the past soon anyway) calls, and the ability to use your phone abroad in some countries with no roaming charges is very attractive.

Both, as you say, will become compulsory for all networks by the end of next year so they will lose that edge by then, but nice now whilst it is unique to them.

Do any of the other networks offer anything akin to Three's 'Feel At Home' policy?

I was with Three when it was all you can eat data with tethering, once used 35GB in a month. I considered going back when my contract was up but this being stopped kept me away.

Not aware of anything at the moment but all roaming costs have to be abolished by the end of 2015 for all EU networks anyway.

Does that include roaming while in the US, or just within other EU countries?

A quick question....this termination? It wont affect my dongle top ups for MiFi will it? (I said I am not with Three and then remembered the dongle I got when internet went down...and then I took to Spain?)

Just slightly perplexed with the talk of tethering etc...:smileywink:

No, the dongles tariffs are designed for tethering and don'y have unlimited data anyway.
