As part of the #o2surprise that I received last week, there was a jar of smiles. Many were keen to see what would come out of the jar each day, so here are the ones so far!
The one that I picked out on Friday was "If you want to see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain".
This morning I picked out "Relax and reflect. A bad day doesn't mean it's a bad life".

Don't close the stable door after the horse has bolted.
Yep, another old proverb ... I remember them from Junior school.

Course, those who remember those days surely remember the plastic bucket for night time emergencies?
Yes @jonsie, very much so. My elderly aunt still lives in a house with a functional outdoor lavatory but the days of chamber pots ended some time ago as she now has an indoor bathroom too. 👍
Did your outside lavatory come equipped with a small paraffin heater for the really frosty weather ?

When I lived with Mum and Dad in Coventry, we had a 2 up 2 down house.
In the yard was a coal house and an outside toilet.
It wasn't until I was about 10 that we had a bathroom/toilet built upstairs. Then we had gas fires installed and used the coalhouse to extend the kitchen.
