As usual, there is one QI-style question, where the answer is not what most people assume.
I have tried to make this quiz a fair balance of questions, although one question may prove tricky.
This quiz - as are all White Room Thursday Quizzes - are open to all members.
I hope those who have taken part in a previous White Room Thursday Quiz will take part, and that new members, and those who have not previously played, will join in.
Please feel free to post any comments on the questions - but not the answers - on this thread.
If you have any questions about the quiz, please ask and I will reply here.
Thank you everyone for your interest.
I hope everyone enjoys this People`s Choice edition of the White Room Thursday Quiz.

THE ANSWERS:
Q1 [FOOD & DRINK]: Where is isinglass gelatin obtained from?
A1: fish bladders
Q2 [TV]: Which British TV sit-com from 1970s/80s featured Ben and Ria Parkinson and their two sons, Adam and Russell?
A2: Butterflies
Q3 [SPORT]: Who is Lord`s Cricket Ground named after?
A3: Thomas Lord, founder
Q4 [BIOLOGY]: Which part of the human body is affected by the medical condition aphakia ?
A4: eye [the lens]
Q5 [NATURE]: Which species of tree was the tallest ever recorded?
A5: this was the QI-style question. Not the Coast Redwood, a species of which near Ukiah, California reached 367.5ft.
The correct answer is an eucalyptus tree in Australia, which was measured in 1871 after it had fallen over and measured a height of 433ft - making it the tallest tree ever recorded.
Q6 [ROCK/POP MUSIC]: The name of which band was inspired by the nickname of musician Charlie Parker?
A6: Charlie Parker`s nickname was Bird. The official right answer is The Yardbirds but, as the US band The Byrds allegedly took their name from The Yardbirds and/or were inspired by Parker`s name, I will allow The Byrds as an answer.
Q7 [GEOGRAPHY]: In which country are the Troodos mountains?
A7: Cyprus
Q8 [FILMS/MOVIES]: Which was the first completed film directed by Alfred Hitchcock?
A8: This is the question which many thought was the QI-style. A couple of you identified it as a pub quiz question. According to imdb, the first film Hitchcock directed, Number 13, in 1922 was never completed; his first success was The Lodger in 1927 but wasn`t the first completed film he directed.
The first completed film directed by Hitchcock was The Pleasure Garden in 1925.
