ANSWERS:
Q1 [history]: During which war did the Battle of Marston Moor take place?
A1: First English Civil War (1642-1644) - Battle of Marston Moor 2 July 1644
Q2 [structures - new]: Which castle overlooks the Llyn peninsula?
A2: Criccieth Castle. One member submitted an alternative answer - Harlech Castle - and, on checking, this is also correct [see RESULTS below]
Q3 [science]: Ni is the chemical symbol for which element?

Q6 [games]: In a standard pack of playing cards, how many eyes - in total - of the four Jacks can be seen ?
A6: 12. This is the QI-style question. Each Jack shows two heads. Jack of Diamonds and Jack of Clubs show two eyes in each of two heads [2 suits x 2 eyes x 2 heads = 8 eyes]; Jack of Spades and Jack of Hearts show one eye in each of two heads [2 suits x 1 eye x 2 heads = 4 eyes] = total 12 eyes.
Q7 [music]: In which year did the UK first win the Eurovision Song Contest?
A7: 1967 - Sandie Shaw "Puppet On A String"
Q8 [food and drink]: What is wrapped in bacon to make angels on horseback ?

That blumming QI card question. Came close to putting 8 until I thought back to the days when I was a 'card sharp'
Seriously, never played cards until I met my other half. His family used to play every time they met up. You either joined in or died of boredom. Those were the days
Love @Anonymous's answer of Jammie Dodger.
Well done everyone. Thanks @Mi-Amigo for another great game.

Thank you @MI5 and @Cleoriff for your kind comments.
@Anonymous `s answer - Jammie Dodger - did make me chuckle and she also, again, found an alternative
correct to one of the questions.
As to the QI-style question being cards in the "games" category, I admit this was a bit sneaky this week but wanted a question which wasn`t in the usual "history" or "people" category [for example, who invented ---- ?].
There is a "special edition" next week - to tie-in with @Marjo `s events - with questions posted on Wed and answers pm`d to me on Thursday...
and I have a "surprise edition" planned for the end of February - more on that later...
So all the regulars, and those who want to join in, have plenty of time to get their thinking hats on
