Good news lynx story re-wilding programme :
A lynx kitten born in Cornwall has become the UK's first zoo-bred cat to be selected as a potential candidate to be released into the wild.
Newquay Zoo's Carpathian lynx kitten, born on 29 May 2024, has been chosen by Europe's Linking Lynx rewilding conservation programme.
The initiative aims to maintain a healthy population of reintroduced cats in Europe's mountain ranges, from the Carpathian Mountains to the Alps.
John Meek, curator of plants and animals at Newquay Zoo, said: "Her selection as a potential candidate for this programme validates our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of animal care and wildlife conservation."
The lynx will have to pass examinations and be relocated to a rewilding facility in Germany, where she will spend time in a semi-wild environment.
The transitional period allows the cat to develop the skills necessary for survival in the wild.

Some Good News to Share :
Managed to get to my Tuesday Craft Group today ... Yay !
Haven't been this year to date due to circumstances
Was very apprehensive, even though the people have always been kind to each other and it is a small class.
It's like therapy.
Hoping to go to next weeks group.
We do respect the environment and are currently collecting paper bags to do something creative with xx

Thank you @Cleoriff
The course is NHS funded and was put in place post Covid as people were isolated.
I would have liked to Tai Chi, seated down this time, long ago as a social group we all enjoyed the moves positioned in a circle. Tai Chi group is quickly filled up.
The group now takes place in a designated Arts Centre. This was a former Victorian school = all revamped inside with Acccessibility.

Boki the Bear, who had ground breaking brain surgery, has emerged from torpor very well. Water on the brain. His scar visible. He is off medication and his workers say he is showing his personality as before.
If anyone could post a 'blue link' with photo I'd be grateful x
