Headline : SanDisk SD memory card 'largest ever.

Excerpt from the Link "Memory specialist SanDisk has created an SD card with 512 gigabytes (512GB) of storage space - the highest capacity ever released.

The card, which is the size of a postage stamp, will go on sale for $800 (£490)."

My thoughts :

Would a smartphone ever be able to accept this gigantic SD card capacity.

I too wouldn't cough that amount and i would also be concerned about reliability as SanDisk cards (as with others) are prone to failure.

I'm fairly sure it's designed more for professional people such as photographers or film makers. Who would buy a card costing as much as a top end phone (that's if you can find a phone capable of taking one)?

I would assume as time goes by prices will reduce for these possibly higher capacity sd cards.

As i have two Samsung handsets i opted for Samsung memory cards on the basis that the manufacturer should know best.

Given that SanDisk have gone for a mega card and Samsung already offer 128gb i believe i can't see it being long before Samsung follow suit. That said on a phone how much data capacity does one need? ??
