It's that time of year again....Some love it and others hate it....

However, BBC have announced the first 'celebrity' to join the line up for Strictly Come Dancing 2017.

It's Mollie King from the girl band The Saturdays (Frankie Bridge from the same group appeared in 2014)

Mollie King....

I can probably understand the reason they give whilst the show is running but give us a break. Every other reality show releases the voting figures post show. So the BBC's reason is a poor one.

Being a suspicious person the only reason I can see is the BBC is manipulating the voting figures......

Why ?

To get the result they want is the quick answer. I'm not saying that's what they've done just that I have no other explanation. What difference does it make, after the winner is announced, for the BBC to show the voting stats. It's not going to affect the voting as they claim because the votes have already been counted and the result announced.

Consider that they're trying to hide behind the FOI its rather galling to expect viewers to pay for a phone call vote and not know their impact after the show is the bit that annoys. Its a public corporation that is paid for by the tv tax so should be more transparent given the scandals the BBC have been responsible for with public competitions. Or is it really just a fund raiser.

"As a result, we don't even know which of the celebs came second, third or fourth in the competition" which is really saying the process isn't verified, so are they lying to us by really meaning contestant x reached the minimum number in y amount of time thus is the winner by first past the post?

At the least, they should release the figures after the series has completed like they do on X-Factor and let us discuss it on forums. Next year I won't bother voting with the BBC when they want you to be interactive with them.

That was my point @sheepdog. Once the series has finished the BBC comment 'we don't release the figures as they may influence the vote' is one of the most stupid comments I have heard

.

Also there was problem with the voting last night. I belong to two Strictly forums (one is the official BBC forum)

They did NOT make it clear how the voting would work. You were only allowed 3 votes per dance, over the 3 dances.(online) So if you voted after the first two dances that was it. People were complaining

1) They thought they could vote for ALL 3 dances not just two.(I voted online and after the first 2 dances I cast my 6 online votes. I thought I could vote again after the third dance. No.. I had cast my 6 allowed votes!

2) Complaints from those phoning to vote for Gemma saying they constantly got the engaged signal

So all in all a bit of a fiasco.....

No wonder they wont release the figures. It sounds as if they made them up!

Also as we both said, every other reality show releases the voting figures at series end. I have also just watched I'm A Celebrity Get Me out of Here. The show finished last Sunday. On Monday they told us the winner (Georgia Toffola) garnered at least double the percentage of votes to the celebrity who came second in every elimination vote. When it was down to the final two she got 71.4% of the vote

http://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/20**Personal info**/im-a-celebrity-2017-full-voting-statistics-rev...

NB Please note those results of an ITV show were published in the Radio Times.

Interesting what you say @Cleoriff about those trying to vote for Gemma by phone. Constantly engaged so no one could get through to vote for her.

I also voted online after the two dances and just like @Cleoriff thought I could vote again after the third dance.

Sorry but I smell a rat. People unable to get through by phone to vote for one of the finalists, a surprise winner - I mean he wasn't even on my radar; Gemma definitely but not Joe. And then the BBC won't release the voting stats

It makes my comment about the BBC 'manipulating the figures' seem less of a 'conspiracy theory' 😕

Needless to say the stupid forum filter has blocked part of that radio times link. I'm not even trying to post it again as I'm out on mobile. If interested it can be googled.

Getting quite tired of the constant malfunctioning filter.  It doesn't even do the job it was designed to do!!
