David Bowie died yesterday aged 69.He had cancer.

I am unbelievably shocked at this news. He had hidden his illness from the public

I had so many first edition stamps, all postmarked by my dad who worked at the Royal Mail. He would just run them through the franking machine as they were more valuable and more collectable. My son still has all the albums, dating from the late 50s to the 70s when I stopped collecting. My dad also used to take all the international stamps off post and parcels, some of them very rare.
A great and rewarding hobby....

All stuck to a presentation card with some description of the event or commemoration.

What people don't realise is that a full collection will never devalue and pass them onto your kids and they could be worth thousands in years to come....unless they sell bucketloads.....eg. Royal commerative jugs and millennium trivia which are probably worth less than any sane person would have paid.
