A bit of a shock to hear that Cyrille Regis has died age 59. He died of a heart attack

A footballer who played for West Brom and my home team Coventry City

He scored 112 goals in 297 appearances for the Baggies before joining Coventry City for £250,000 in 1984.

He was a pioneer for black footballers in the game. He was awarded an MBE in 2008

Yes that was the chant. I had forgotten it.

He was at The Hawthornes on Saturday watching the match (according to the news today)...

Originally the Warburton's bread advert but adopted by the WBA fans almost immediately. It could have been written for him!

He did so much in paving the way for other black footballers but suffered so much for it.

Thank you Cyrille and may you RIP. It was a pleasure to watch you play.

Cyrille was part of Coventry City's FA cup winning side in 1987. They tweeted this today.

I'm glad to see all the tributes pouring in. I'm sure his family will be so proud.

They were talking to friends and fans outside the Hawthornes yesterday. Tributes are pouring in with flowers scarves and WBA shirts attached to the wall and gates
