I have been an O2 customer for many years and currently have an iPhone X coming to the end of the contract and where I will need to go to a SIM only tariff. I have noticed for a long time a growing deterioration in the internet performance on 4G only (no WiFi) but done nothing about it.
Today the browser was not responding at all in a couple of places and so decided to regularly check the performance on 4G only using Speedtest (I get at home using Speedtest on my WiFi about 46Mbs download speed).
Before I entered the O2 shop in London Road on 4G only (and showing 4G not 3G) the download speed was 1.59Mbs.
The 'guru' in the shop suggested this may be due to O2 taking out of commission local 4G ariels during the installation of 5G and did not seem that interested in challenging my growing belief that the best answer for me is actually to change to another SIM provider like EE who moments later when I went to their store were eager to show how on their SIM in their store on 4G alone the download speed was 27Mbs.
So the question is - to what extent is a connection speed less than 2Mbs the situation in the Bognor area, has in fact the speed deteriorated in recent times and what is being done to rectify this for 4G users. Thanks

@Peterg This is a customer forum with no representation from O2 so we wouldn't know the answer.
You can try using 3g which is usually faster in congested areas and report the issue through the My Network app to O2.
