Wow, @Pennywren. I am now catching up on topics from last week and that poem is beautiful 😮. Thank you so much for sharing.
My favourite part (even though it was all great!):
Emerald grass punctuated by pockets of wildflowers:
Snowy white, golden yellow, palest yellow and bold blue hues,
All creating the tapestry called life.
Thanks again. I will share some of my own again soon.

*new start*
A new start
A fresh beginning
The time is at hand.
It's a rollercoaster of emotion
The good, the bad, the numb.
6wks isn't long
Yet a lifetime too.
I have nerves
I have excitement
I hope I'm good enough.
It's something I want
It's something I need,
Yet such a scary thought.
200 miles away
Yet right here in my heart.
I happy
I'm excited
But im down right terrified.
I pray I am strong enough
I pray I am good enough.
Dreams don't come true
If you let them float on by.
Seize the moment
Hold on to your dreams
I'm about to start a new chapter
A mountain I must climb
Although tears run freely
It's a mix of happy and sad
The end of one part
The start of something new.
I'm anxious and scared
But excitement never far
Let me be strong enough

Lovely poem @Pennywren
May I ask if you are moving home? It sounds really exciting although a bit scary.

Lovely poem, @Pennywren. I can definitely feel your emotions in it.
To second what both Cleoriff and Mi-Amigo have said, I wish you the best of luck with the move. I'm sure it'll go great 😊.

I visited a Helen Levitt photography exhibition a while back, based on a recommendation by @RafaC. I picked up these postcards for a couple of quid, and used them as writing prompts later on for some poetry. The poems are below, ordered from left to right in the photo.
Childs clings onto the fat bosom of Mother
Chooses squashed small space
While world passes by
Curiosity around the edges
A lot of silliness in the middle
Street performers with dreams due for dredges
Big boys who go to bed and still dribble.
Camera captures cheekiness, delight and fight
Frozen faces that wonder next when
A future of fright or a past that’s bright
Little boys before war now dead old men.
Busy boys fill the street
Bully boys will give ’em beat
Scars and bruises life greets
Men who still turn out sweet.
This was a different but enjoyable challenge for me. I hope members of the community like them, especially as they vary in style (and away from how I normally write poetry). I always feel inspired to share my own work when you, @Pennywren, post 😁. Thanks for that, as I don't usually share it! And to other members for responding.

It's 6am
The train nearly empty
The sun crests the hill
I'm wide awake and beginning a journey
The journey of a life time
A move
200miles away
From what I know
From what I'm used to
To something new and exciting
To the place I will call home
To start afresh
To.move past the years of hurt and pain
To begin again
Yes I'm scared
Yes I worry
But the years of praying is paying off
I can be my own person
A new start
A new me
Love keeps my heart buoyant
Keeps my spirits afloat
The past month was insane
The future looks hectic
But also so bright
Like a new star waiting to shine,
Shine upon the world
Sharing its warmth for all to see.
