Well if he gets hit with a huge MMS bill from O2 this will all come back to bite him as he was only £80 out of pocket from the non-delivery of the Playstation.

If the recipient doesn't have a phone capable of blocking the number I guess he'll keep getting them. On the other hand, if the sender is going to get hit with a huge charge for sending multiple MMS's, they're both going to lose.

and on monthly limit was 12000 so way over that he may get slapped wrists and backfire on him also this could be over 2 billing periods .

But I would have thought he could be done for harrasment and the seller has his address !!

The article that jonsie linked to says 'He sends it as one text but his victim can only receive them in 160 character chunks - meaning the 37 works of Shakespeare will buzz through in 29,305 individual texts.'

So he didn't come anywhere near his text allowance.

So what you're saying is that we can compose an SMS of limitless characters, send it...and only be charged for a single SMS despite it having to be broken up into separate SMS's for it to be sent?

What the news stories haven't included is that the messages were actually sent via an app, the app breaks it down to 160 characters and sends them.

So are you saying that by using this app the sender will not have incurred MMS charges?

No because the app cuts it off every 160 characters and sends it in blocks. If it's worked of course because looking at the screenshots, the messages are much longer.

I'm trying to remember the name of the app now.
