My question is this. Should threads on o2 Community have a reasonable connection to o2?
There has been another batch of Facebook style threads start recently. Is o2 Community the right place?

So for example (and I refer to this one only as it was the first to come up in my feed) where is the link between o2 and a tv drama (Broadchurch).
Personally I don't feel this is the right place and it should be on Facebook or similar. This site is, in my opinion, for people who want help or information relevant to o2.

As site management have instigated and joined in on some of these style of threads they must be acceptable.
I know we have debated this subject matter before.
The description of Off Topic says its a chat board.
Not everyone is technical minded or has a primary interst in joining in on the other dedicated boards , so the Off Topic boards lets members so inclined join in.
As we know we have a Virtual Lounge Thread and Wantys which has no connection to O2 ,but does provide a reasonable place to chat but not everyone joins in there. And it's not really a place to create a thread about something that may be of interest such as Health etc.
I do believe @Marjo and the team are bringing amendments to the guidelines and an opportunity for us all to actively discuss how we would like to see the Community grow.
I'm quite happy to engage in any topics that are reasonable myself. 😄

A lot of the posts I start have a medical related theme...due to my background I suppose (and are confined to Off Topic)
Although they are certainly nothing to do with O2, they do usually talk about innovations in medical technology...which sometimes have links to innovations in other areas of technology.
As I have limited knowledge with smartphones etc....I feel inclined to spread the word about medical issues that I think may be of benefit to us all...
Any other threads I start are 'usually' confined to asking questions about the forum, making suggestions on forum design...and I always have many many queries about phone related issues
So that is my stance on the issue :smileywink:....

To add...I will be offline now for a while. It's not that I don't want to debate further...I just will have no way of doing so. I will be back later if I need to add anything else...

I was the one who started the Broadchurch thread - apologies to anyone who was offended by it.
If people don't want general, non O2 related chit chat then maybe the powers that be need to do away with the Off Topic board as surely, if everything has to be related to O2, there won't be any need for it.
Just my thoughts.

The clue is in the title - 'off topic'
That's all i'm going to say on it as i'm bored of all of these debates whereby there's mostly novice people wanting to chat to other members and have some kind of input vs the people who think that they own the site and want everything their way.
Enjoy the debate guys

I genuinely don't think any Apology is necessary @Anonymous as your thread is within the current remit of the Off Topic section.

Don't apologise @Anonymous - you posted an off-topic thread in the off-topic section.....:smileytongue:
