I watched the whole concert on TV. All 16 hrs of it.
It was repeated on BBC 2 yesterday. Highlights lasting 4 hrs. We watched it again as it never gets old.
We do, but that concert doesn't. 😂
I still think Queen gave the most mesmerising performance of them all. Just superb, considering they were on the verge of splitting up. That concert 'regenerated' their career.
Sad to see the artists who have died since that memorable day.
Freddie Mercury, George Michael, David Bowie, John Entwhistle (the Who) Rick Parfitt (Quo),
Brian Wilson (Beachboys).
I see that photo was taken inside Wembley @Bambino.
Were you there? (I just know you are going to say yes. 😂)

Clearly remember Quo opening up with - Rockin All Over the World
Paul Young .......?
Annie Lennox = her matte black satin gown and platignum blonde 'pixie cut' short hair
Phil Collins performing at Wembley ....... then off by airplane to Pennsylvania to perform in USA ....... something about a 1 second behind GB live broadcast time, but they must have sorted it.
Only recently know of Sir Bob Geldof saying to Freddie = 'Just Play the Hits'
Iconic Global Event ....... remember where I was with my lad just about 3.1/2 months old. Watched on old monochrome portable tv & taped live off radio. Still have cassette.

I don't think, at the time, we quite realised the magnitude of what was going on.

I knew what was going on. There was enough TV coverage about the starvation crisis.
Then interviews with Bob Geldof and Midge Ure re them contacting the groups to put on an all day show in the UK and US.
They emphasised that the charity handouts were just a 'drop in the ocean' and people would be willing to give more through music.
Other countries joined in though not televised in the UK
I also remember the single released in Dec 84 ' Do They Know It's Christmas' was the start of it.
I didn't realise how much the concerts eventually raised until this week though.
