'Laundroid' - laundry robot can fold shirts

Apparently Panasonic is investing (£49 million) in a laundry robot that can fold and stack clothes. It originates from a Japanese start-up.

The device is currently the size of a wardrobe and uses artificial intelligence and image recognition technology to fold and stack clothes. Folding one shirt takes 10 min. The ultimate idea is though to have a machine out in 2019 that can also wash and dry the clothes - something that could potentially revolutionalise home life.

Having travelled extensively over the last few years and having to do my own washing, ironing and packing, here's how to do without robots. This works and after practice, anyone can fold a shirt in 2 seconds.

That's quite impressive, @jonsie! Although I read that instead of folding clothes, if you roll them, they won't have creases.

I tell you this.... packing for 2 of us to go away for 4 days to Brean requires more time, packing and effort than when I travel alone to Spain for 2/52.

Mind you with Brean, the gang, the rock and roll..... and the booze we take, all has to be catered for..A military operation in fact....

True Steve....it's a pity though,  after 20 years they still fail to realise I am NOT the wine expert of the group....yet it always falls on me to buy it.... Red. white and rose. I am quite happy taking my vodka ...I know what I like (any) Thank god the others like gin and brandy. They can get their own...

It wouldn't be possible really Steve. Its a 4 hr journey. The Unity Park is in the middle of nowhere and is purely a seasonal place. This is why the organisers of the rock and roll weekends can get it so cheaply.

There is one shop on site and the price of all booze is horrendous. So taking your own is a must.

PS ...we do stop midway for a break and some of us have a splash or two of wine. I provide a can of coke each for Ray and Dave (the two drivers).......I am so kind....
