There are between two and eight tiny recording heads inside your computer's hard-drive - and in normal operation, it's as if one recording head was a Boeing 747 flying at cruising speed along a football pitch at a height of one inch above the grass, and counting every blade of grass as the pitch passed beneath the plane's nose.
