What a farce this is turning out to be.
Earlier this month The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) had recommended all Russian athletes be banned from the Rio Olympics after its independently commissioned report found evidence of a "four-year state sponsored doping programme" across the vast majority of Olympic sports.
The IOC made a decison to ban some athletes but then, in rather a cowardly move, passed on the responsibility to the individual governing sports bodies. (In other words " you decide....we wont!")
Now 5 days before the start of the games we are told the IOC has convened a 'three person panel' who will make a final, final final decision on the recommendations made by the individual sports bodies.

I think this smacks of hypocrisy and fear......?

Thankfully the judges decision was overturned. Seems like one massive cover up to me.
However..this bit is concerning....."Since then, the bags have been stored in an anti-doping laboratory in Barcelona" (If it was so important to save them....then lets get on with testing?)

Brown envelopes and greasy palms. This is and always will be the way sport is controlled and we find out only later just what murky depths people in power sink to.

Can of worms much???
Oh I agree ......I love the way the powers that be think 'this is not in the public interest'.....!!
Having said that... I must admit that during the last Olympics, every time I watched any Russian athlete particate I had doubts about doping. That nation was tarred with a 'state sponsored doping programme' brush....so I expect most of us felt the same
