I meant generally, Harry Potter isn't my type of film
or book.
As an example, I am a fan of the Reacher books by Lee Child and the main character is six feet six with broad shoulders and a physique to match. In the recent film he was played by the five foot nothing Tom Cruise and the film content was so far removed from the book it was nonsensical in parts. Very disappointing.

In school and college we had to read books (not Harry Potter) and then watch the films but since I left college I prefer it the other way round as I like to have a picture in my head of what I am reading and it's easier if I have seen the films and got an idea of what the characters look like and the surroundings, even if they are slightly different than the book.
I have watched all of the Harry Potter films but up to now I haven't finished the 1st book yet but I do prefer the books to the films.

The books! By far.
Especially the 5th book - it was so full of details and the film was so short and cuted..
They should've made 2 films from the 5th book instead of the 7th.
