As in previous elections, there are amusing "political parties" and funny candidates standing...

Give me back my Elmo?
David "Screaming Lord" Sutch forme the "Teenage Party"and stood as its candidate in 1963 - advocating votes at 18 [which became law years later]. In 1983, David Sutch formed the Monster Raving Loony Party which contested the 1983 election. Sadly, David committed suicide in 1999. Later that year, OMRL party members selected Howling Lord Hope as leader.
As for Give me back my Elmo, he got three [3] votes in Maidenhead in 2017 - less than the number of supporters required on the nomination form to stand as candidate
