[Game] Word Hunt Diamond - Game 1

Hello everyone

Do you enjoy wordsearch, Scrabble, anagrams? Then you might like a brand new game -

                                                               The Word Hunt Diamond

The game is open to all members.

Each week, a grid of nine letters in a diamond will be posted with a target number of words to find using only the letters in the grid.

This week`s grid is as follows:

                                                                   I       P      A

                                                                       L      G

                                                                           E

This week`s target is 75 words using only the letters in the grid.

Each word must contain four letters or more and must include the red letter.

No proper names are allowed.

Each letter in the grid can only be used once in each word [so, for example, PIPE wouldn`t be allowed].

Of course, words do not have to start with the red letter.

Only one word per post and please wait until someone else has posted before posting again.

There is one nine-letter word using all the letters in the grid. 

Regular updates will be given of the words found and the number of words still to be found.

What you need is -

a literature buff for no 3; an American for nos 5, 13; a horticulturist for nos 5, 10; a historian for no 7; and a scientist for no 8

And now I really am out even with all the clues.

I should have got the Palm one, as I have palms in my garden...but no clue.

Also the atmospheric gas pressure, then as it's nothing to do with the respiratory system I also have no clue.

The only thing I can think of for jacket is Gilet...and that doesn't fit...no P...

More info

- no 7 = outer garment of leather or wool [five letters beginning with P]

- no 8 = gas at pressure greater than atmospheric pressure = five letters beginning with P]

- no 13 = beads of shell as native American currency = four letters beginning with P]

Really pleased you enjoyed the game.

I`ll leave it open for a little while longer to see if anyone can find the last 3 words
