I wasn't knocking Alonso at all, he drove a brilliant race.
Fact is, a few engines blew up (3 or 4?) and they were all Honda's. Pushed the performance too far.
Bottom line, they know the race parameters but failed to provide engines capable of finishing the race.
That aside, it does, however, beg the question as to why their F1 engines are so slow?

"Bottom line, they know the race parameters but failed to provide engines capable of finishing the race."

Just like F1.....MGUH will only last 2 races i.e. approx. 400 miles

"it does, however, beg the question as to why their F1 engines are so slow?"

Because they know they will only last a limited time at the stress level of a <200 mile F1 race.

It certainly looks like Honda are incapable of making race engines that last more than 400 miles, which should have been apparent to McLaren many months ago.

I believe it's quite possible that Honda are using McLaren expertise to improve their technology rather than vice versa.

Edit tech correction

Yes I know...but it made me giggle nonetheless. I expect it did the same for Jenson.

Mind you he made me smile all weekend. Telling Alonso with the live link up that he had left him a real bag of bits to race with ...and he was going to pee on his seat. LOL

It was good to have him back.
