Football Talk

Thought I would start off a thread, bit of friendly banter not too heavy and an opportunity to express your ideas about your favourite team.

What are you hoping for in the January transfer market?

As a Liverpool fan I am hoping for cover for Mane and the front 3.

I'd agree about last year, but in his first year at Leeds they struggled at the end of the season.
At Marseille the same thing happened, and at Atletico so there is history.
We will never know what would have happened if Covid never disrupted things.
The problem is idiots on social media. As soon as someone says something that is not liked it gets jumped on, and in this case more so because of who said it.
If it were a man, would there be comments about housework needing to be done? Or getting back in the kitchen?
Hasselbank (who was stood next to here) was heard to say spot on after she made the comment. Has anything been said to him?

So sorry @pgn

You’re right @gmarkj this is more about social media and the morons who use it as a tool. LUFC have made a statement to that effect. AR has also invited her to LS11 to talk about the situation. Doesn’t sound like the actions of a bloke who has an axe to grind / dislikes her.

JFH is on social media but isn’t a user. But my comment and comments of others elsewhere about him was, it’s easy to agree on the spot but a few months ago when they were thinking of ending the season early JFH was all for it. If he truly believed that Derby/Forest & all those other clubs had a chance & Leeds would bottle it then why would he advocate ending the season there and then?
The town hall clock has a few faces too.

No I don't think the chairman meant anything malicious, just wanted to challenge the opinion.
Unfortunately meant all the knuckle draggers came out in force to seize the opportunity.
I think Jimmy's history with Leeds and them being top means that if the season were stopped then they would be crowned winners and get promotion - something that they would have happily accepted!

But that’s where it falls down because although Leeds would’ve accepted an early finish, they were more than up for going the distance, because nobody back then wanted to hear exactly what she just said.

Forest were furious and just one of a few teams willing to go to court to force the league to play out. And look what happened to them.. threw it away and ended up outside the play off places, as did Derby (10th)

So the break was unfair on the other teams because.. Leeds had a break?
What were Forest/Derby & the rest doing? Marathons? Partying?

And yeah JFH did want to see them promoted but I didn’t hear his cries back then of play it out.. let’s earn it.. but now he’s willing to stick the knife in.
Probably wise he’s not active on Twitter because he definitely would’ve got some stick.
