Football Talk

Thought I would start off a thread, bit of friendly banter not too heavy and an opportunity to express your ideas about your favourite team.

What are you hoping for in the January transfer market?

As a Liverpool fan I am hoping for cover for Mane and the front 3.

Silly bizarre and wonderful to watch

Two teams that can't defend and it could have finished 13-6

Full credit to Leeds for not coming to OT with 10 men behind the ball but you can't just play full on attack unless you have a defence.

ManU have a very poor defence but play on the counter attack

That’s 2 wins on the trot, now I know they’re not big teams but neither are we.. so I’m happy that 6 points takes us mid table

If you mean the comments after the Leeds game @Anonymous, then I would disagree.
The comment (about Leeds struggling to go up without the enforced break) I thought was fairly accurate; Bielsa teams are known to run themselves out of puff towards the end of the season.
Having the break meant they could recover somewhat, and when the league started again they were fresh.
The pile on that has happened since (no thanks to the official twitter account, and the chairman wading in after!) is not good and has been widely and correctly condemned.
If the same comment were made by a man it probably wouldn't have got the same reaction and that is the issue.
If Tim Sherwood makes it, then the reaction would have been less severe (even though Sherwood is known for putting his foot in his mouth) just because of his gender.

We’ll have to agree to disagree @pgn

Before the break we’d won 5 games on the trot and on our first game back we got thrashed by Cardiff.

So although she was fairly right (normally we throw it away at Christmas) about previous seasons and was fully entitled to make the comments (as is any pundit) ... because she’s a woman.. it was an ‘attack’ and every man and his dog (except Jeff Stelling) went on the attack.

It wasn’t even an attack.. he merely pointed out the facts, hers was just conjecture. Yet she’s the victim?
