Good morning everyone ❤️
Hope everyone is feeling romantic for the start of Love Week 2024 😋
First up is discussion on your favourite love songs of all time and i'll start things off with my top four in no particular order ↘️
I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston (1992)
Originally performed by Dolly Parton in 1973. Whitney Houston recorded a new version of the song for the soundtrack to The Bodyguard, her film debut. The single spent 14 weeks at the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, which at the time was a record. It became Houston's longest run atop the chart, surpassing her previous record of three weeks with "Greatest Love of All" in 1986. In February 2014, the song placed at number six on Billboard's list of the Top 50 'Love' Songs of All Time. Is this track near the top of your list?
Truly Madly Deeply - Savage Garden (1997)
Next up is a tune a played as a teenager!! Truly Madly Deeply is a song by Australian pop duo Savage Garden, released in March 1997. It won the 1997 ARIA Music Award for both Single of the Year and Highest Selling Single and was nominated for Song of the Year. The song also reached No. 1 in Australia, Canada, and the United States. There were also two music videos made for the song, one for Australian and one of European audiences. Do you have their self titled debut album?
Can't Help Falling in Love - Elvis (1961)
Another classic that makes my list is Can't Help Falling in Love recorded by Elvis. The song featured in Presley's 1961 film Blue Hawaii. Elvis topped the British charts in 1962, spending four weeks at no. 1. The single is certified Platinum by the RIAA, for US sales in excess of one million copies. In the United States, the song peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 behind Joey Dee and the Starliters' "Peppermint Twist.
It was listed as one of the greatest songs of all-time by Rolling Stone, ranking #403 in the list's 2012 edition. The track has also been covered by other artists including Swedish pop group A-Teens, and the British reggae group UB40.
I Don't Want to Miss a Thing - Aerosmith (1998)
The final melody on my top four list is Aerosmiths, I Don't Want to Miss a Thing. This was released as as the theme song for the 1998 science fiction disaster film Armageddon, in which lead singer Steven Tyler's daughter Liv starred. The song was Aerosmith's biggest hit, debuting at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, where it stayed for four weeks in September, and reaching number one around the world. On November 28, 2015, boxer Tyson Fury sang the song after beating long reigning heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in Düsseldorf, Germany.
I hope that took you on a trip down memory lane 😊
