So breaking news before the start of the 2024 season:

Lewis Hamilton appears to be making a move to Ferrari for the 2025 season

A major shock as he signed a two year contract with Mercedes last season. So whether it was one year with an opt out clause for 2025 is anyone's guess.

This seems to be anything but a silly season rumour!

NB As Charles Leclerc has just signed a contract extension with Ferrari, it looks as if Lewis would be replacing Carlos Sainz.

It won't be a popular move. Also, not sure how Mercedes will handle that news THIS year as Lewis is driving for them until the end of 2024.

Will they put all their eggs in George Russells basket? (Hamilton came 3rd in the drivers championship last year and Russell came 8th)

Q3 and Grid for tomorrow

Norris looked to be on pole with a minute to go. Max on a flying lap until Russell puts his car in the wall. Yellow flags stopped the session so the grid line up as so:

Mercedes say there was a problem with the front hydraulics of Lewis's car.

Seems to be a lot of issues with car 44 recently. 🙄

RACE Results COTA.

Lewis started 19th and made his way up to 15th on the first lap. Sadly on the 2nd lap he binned it into gravel and race over for him. 

George started from pitlane due to the mechanics having to work on his car after his crash in Qualy. He managed 6th which was a good result.

The Ferrari's got a one two.

MEXICO F1 Weekend.

Today we had 5 junior drivers taking a F1 session for McLaren, Mercedes, Ferrari, Alpine and Aston.

The session didn't run for long as Ollie Bearman and Alex Albon crashing on track.

Albons car was severely damaged and Bearman's car less so. (Bearman was driving Leclerc's car)

FP2 Session

This session was meant to test the new Pirelli tyres for 2025.  Unfortunately George Russell smashed his car into the barrier. The car was badly damaged as was the barrier. The clock kept running so Pirelli didn't get the full test in.

These times arent representative. Verstappen had engine issues. Albon didn't get out in F2nn as they were still rebuilding his car

QUALIFYING.

MEXICO RACE

What a race! Max Verstappen swept into the lead before the first bend.

However, pulling his usual trick of knocking Norris off track TWICE within  8 minutes he was given 2 10 second penalty points.

He had to serve this at his first pit stop. Max was not impressed.

Hamilton and Russell had completely different spec cars. Hamilton won the interteam battle.

Lots of action. Perez got a penalty for starting outside his grid box. 2 car crash which brought out safety car

BRAZIL F1

A Sprint weekend with only one Practice session. Super sub Ollie Bearman is standing in for Magnussen of Haas who is ill. The track has been resurfaced and is very bumpy.

Neither Verstappen or Hamilton did a run on softs.

Next up is Sprint Qualifying.
