So breaking news before the start of the 2024 season:

Lewis Hamilton appears to be making a move to Ferrari for the 2025 season

A major shock as he signed a two year contract with Mercedes last season. So whether it was one year with an opt out clause for 2025 is anyone's guess.

This seems to be anything but a silly season rumour!

NB As Charles Leclerc has just signed a contract extension with Ferrari, it looks as if Lewis would be replacing Carlos Sainz.

It won't be a popular move. Also, not sure how Mercedes will handle that news THIS year as Lewis is driving for them until the end of 2024.

Will they put all their eggs in George Russells basket? (Hamilton came 3rd in the drivers championship last year and Russell came 8th)

FP3. Singapore.

Lewis was asked yesterday, with Mercedes poor performance, how he felt they go in Qualifying?

He said currently, I wont get out of Q2!

Their test driver Vesti, worked on the sim most of the night. As you can see, George's car went well in P3.

Lewis however, only managed P7.

Weird that?

QUALIFYING

Mercedes improved! Sainz put his car into the wall in Q3.Leclerc had his last hot lap deleted

Ferrari are 9th and 10th.

Singapore Race.

A good race with no safety cars for the first time in years. Or no yellow flags!

Mercedes failed badly with the strategy for Lewis who started in 3rd but the only driver to start on soft tyres (with track temps at 40c). Obviously he was one of the first to pit to get rid of the softs and went on hards.

With people pitting much later that really compromised his race.

Lando won and was 23 seconds ahead of Verstappen in 2nd.

After nearly 4 weeks, F1 has travelled to the USA.

COTA (Circuit of The Americas) in Texas. It's a Sprint weekend so only one Practice session.

The track is newly surfaced so quite a few cars spinning off!

SPRINT RACE (19 laps)

Max won from Pole.

Brilliant race from both Ferrari drivers.

Lando did well from 4th to get 2nd initially but lost out to Sainz

Both Mercs had issues with rear tyres.  George lost 2nd to the Ferrari's. Lewis made up a place to 6th

These results may change as Piastri had a 5 second penalty for running Gasly off track.

QUALIFYING FOR RACE WILL TAKE PLACE AT 23.00 UK TIME TONIGHT!
