Couldn't be more off topic 😄

I admit it, I'm a decorating maniac. I can't stand dirty paintwork and end up redecorating most rooms at least once a year (twice the kitchen). Today is glossing day 😞 Any tips to stop white glossing from turning yellow in a matter of months?

I would use a water based gloss as it tends to stay white for longer than oil based

I thought they stopped using oil-based gloss a long while back. Though if its turning yellow that quickly then there might be other problems underneath.

Oil based gloss is still readily available

I've asked hubby (he's a handyman) and it's to do with a change in the paint formula - manufacturers had to reduce the solvent levels under EU law.  Apparently they have supposedly sorted it out now but looking online it doesn't seem as though they have - someone recently sued Dulux.

Yes, Tracey, I saw that. There's got to be something that lasts more than a few months though.

I've always used solvent based gloss but it's clearly not working. Will take on Damien's suggestion (thank you!), just cover it up now but strip it all off next Summer and move to water based.

I don't mind painting at all but hate glossing 😞
