I watched the game. What a terrible performance by England.

Southgate needs to take a good long look at the Lionesses`s at Euro who showed the world how to play and win.

Terrible form going into the World Cup, however Football can be unpredictable so you never know! Agree with @Mi-Amigo, a lot to be learned from the Lionesses.

I've given up watching in England in anything these days other than in a major tournament. Not an England fan if you didn't know but I really did think they would have at least been consistent (not scoring goal is consistent 😉 ) given the success in the Euros . They've made their World cup group wide open now instead of being favourites.

Worse thing is, in October there are an incredible amount of games being played in England which isn't going to help their cause at all. Unless Southgate finds a way to qualify past the second round of the WC, he's getting sacked by Christmas.

One trick ponies!

They play the same way, game in game out

Southgate has never known how to switch a game plan midway...truth be known there is no real game plan

Sideways movement, pedestrian-like, across the back four then lump it upfield

Compare that to the Lionesses and their manager can switch to plan B and even plan C

The men just don't seem to have the players to be able to do this, they are coached one way only

That is the reason they lost the Euro final, they were PREDICTABLE and have been ever since

Waiting for the domestic football to start again this weekend, I find international breaks so frustrating!

I agree with J9el, the domestic football is more appealing to me especially when England don't seem to care enough or show any form of passion in these stupid nation league games... For some reason my brain thinks there are saving the good performances for the World Cup but I'm probably naive to think that.

Also agree that England men's could learn a lot from the Lionesses who pulled of European glory earlier this year. And to complete my answer and go in a full circle I want to ask if the intense competition of our domestic games ruins our national squad chemistry?
