Morning all 😁

 

Crazy i know but William is going to 1 years old next week 😅

 

Tomorrow we are having a birthday party for him, so today i will be online until 12.30pm and taking leave  in the afternoon to get everything prepared 😁

 

I'll be back online Monday morning as usual and will pick up any actions required then.

I have a IMPORTANT message to share this morning.

 

There has recently been an internal restructure announced within the business and this means i will be stepping away from the role as O2 Community Manager at end of day, 31st December 2025.

 

Moving forward after this date @Kei_M will be the one to guide you through the next steps, i know you may have questions on this, however there is nothing specific to share at this time.

 

I still have some leave to take before the end of the year, so I'll be in and out over the next few weeks, all i ask is from today i won't be able to pick up any new complex escalations, as i need some time to clear the ones i still need to resolve.

 

Any Blue Monday prize chases or anything you believe is a quick wins are fine to flag but anything else will need to be directed to customer service/social.

 

Also, Nursery have rang and said William is not himself, so i'm going to pick him up early and look after him, so i won't be around this afternoon.

 

It really has been a pleasure managing the Community and interacting with you all, and i have taken real pride in being able to step in and fix issues when others couldn't.

 

I'm not fully decided on my next steps, however this could be a good time to accept a fresh challenge somewhere else after 17 years in the business, i also have a personal profile active @Dave-S so hope to pop in from time to time and see how you're all doing 

 

So from now it's the long goodbye......

Very sad to hear you will be leaving. You certainly have sorted out issues far more quickly than any other manager which has been great for us and the customers you have helped.

I hope this isn't the beginning of the end of the community though?

I wish you all the luck in the world with your next venture (whatever it is) 

You will be missed on here. Thanks for everything xx

PS just one question? Will @Kei_M be here as much as you, or will he be doing 2 jobs?

Sadly, companies have a habit of doing these sort of things before Christmas. Hope it doesn't spoil your time together as a family.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Sad news, Dave, and around Christmas too, never a good time for such things. Best of luck with whatever opportunities arise in the new year, and perhaps Dave-S will drop in now and then, just to keep in touch!

Your tenacity on whatever the Community threw at you, and there seems to have been more and more lately, from less people than before, has been refreshing.

Any chance you can turn off the pop-up survey as you leave at the end of the month ...? 😉 

Oh, and hope William isn't too long unwell, it's been working its way around those in this house for the last few days, and it's a nasty bug for the younger ones!

Well...this is sad news 😪

It must be a thing that good managers seem to leave for pastures new at Christmas time

Such a shame but maybe you have a direction in mind @Dave-O2 ?

Whatever the future holds for you I wish you health wealth and much happiness

I would like to thank you for the help and service you have given during your time with us, and for being one of the regulars who have taken part in WRQ and Brain Teasers.

I hope that you leaving is not an indication that this wonderful O2 Community is going to be wound down.

Sorry I wasn't online yesterday, i had to take a care day, William wasn't well enough to go to nursery, but he is back in today👌

 

Regarding my next steps if i don't stay within the buisness, i'm looking at array of roles including Community, Social Media, Communication or Continuous improvement managment, i currently have a few plates spinning but nothing confirmed yet.

 

Worst case scenario i'll go fitting UPVC windows and doors with my dad as a stop gap in the New Year 😂
