DANCING ON ICE 2025

ITV have started revealing the names of the candidates for Dancing On Ice 2025.

This is a show watched and commented on by myself, @sheepdog and @Mi-Amigo and others.

First candidate is

FERNE McCANN

Ferne is classed as a TV personality who appeared in TOWIE

Then we have

Mollie PEARCE

Mollie appeared in The Traitors. (I didn't watch the show so know nothing else about her)

The 3rd candidate to be revealed was:

Sir Steve Redgrave.

Steve is well known as an Olympic rower who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games from 1984 to 2000. He has also won three Commonwealth Games gold medals and nine World Rowing Championships golds. He is the most successful male rower in Olympic history, and the only man to have won gold medals at five Olympic Games in an endurance sport.

The 4th Contestant is :

Sam Aston.

Sam plays Chesney Brown in Coronation Street. He's been in the show for a long time.

Apparently all the contestants start training next week for 2 hours a day.  Steve said they are banned from the ice until they start training.

There are a total of 12 contestants.

My opinion and comments....

Anton and Annette : 

Not the best start to the show, as said he needs to stop hunching.

Chris and Robyn.

After moaning of having a tough week, Chris tried a slower skate which was safe and nothing great.

Molly and Colin.

Loved this. Molly upped her game and gave good performance. Could be one to watch.

Michaela and Mark.

Brilliant. Best performance of the night. 

Charlie and Brendyn. 

With only two days with new partner, did well and showed more confidence.

Sam and Molly. 

Here I`m probably not going to be popular.... But, in my opinion, Christopher Dean overmarked him and Oti undermarked him. Yes, it was not a bad performance, but not as good as Michaela or Dan, in my opinion. 

Dan and Vanessa E

Brilliant - with first headbanger of series. Second best performance - in my opinion.

Skate off

Anton and Annette and Chris and Robyn

The public got it right - and the judges voted off the worst - in my opinion.

All of this is just my opinion. I am no expert of dancing or skating and don`t want to fall out with anyone. 

With Steve and Chris now out, we should see some great skating from now on.

Not a chance of falling out with anyone on this thread. We are all entitled to our own opinion.

I don't know about @sheepdog but I've put on ice skates once, held on to the rail all the way round, stepped off the ice and never went back. So I'm no expert as far as personal ice skating goes.

However I've always watched it in the winter Olympics, Euro's and other ice skating competitions. I also listen to the experts.

Ashley and Oti are dancers who deal with dance choreography and performance

Jayne and Chris are the ice skating experts who know about single and double axels, toe picks, barrel rolls, butterfly jumps, sliding lunges etc etc etc.

I like Oti but I've always thought she was different to her sister, who drools over the good looking men on SCD. Seems she's the same. To tell someone she wanted it to be more lively when the music was a slowish love song is ridiculous. She gave Sam and Molly her 2nd lowest score of the night. Chris marked him high because he was skating unusual steps that no-one had ever tried before. That's why, when Jayne was giving Sam very positive feedback, Chris turned on her and asked why she hadn't given him a 9 then? ‌😂‌

Also said, He didn't know what the other judges were watching.

Personally I've never seen Chris overmark anyone in that show.

So far I would say Dan is the best male skater and Michaela is the best female. So far, I would put Sam in third position.

Did anyone notice they've changed the format of the skate off?

Prior to this series, the contestants Save Me skate was a completely different routine. Now they are just skating what they did before. Not pleased with that.

When it was a different skate they really had a chance to change the game by choosing to skate to a song they really liked.

The producers need to check the timing of the show as well. It was so rushed at the end, poor Chris was hardly given a chance to say his goodbyes before they were kicking him out!

Good to know we are not falling out and I appreciate your explanation about the judges as I don`t watch SCD so had no idea about Oti or her sister.

I agree with you - Dan is the best male skater and Michaela is the best female skater.

I hope Mollie listens to the judges` comments, so there could see better performance from her especially skating alone. I don`t think Sam has any real problems and will do well again next time.

Which leaves the skate off. I agree with you - why change the format and not allow them to skate to show what they can do, rather than repeat what they did earlier ? That said, I think the skate off next week could well be Anton and Charlie.
