ITV have started revealing the names of the candidates for Dancing On Ice 2025.
This is a show watched and commented on by myself, @sheepdog and @Mi-Amigo and others.
First candidate is
FERNE McCANN
Ferne is classed as a TV personality who appeared in TOWIE
Then we have
Mollie PEARCE
Mollie appeared in The Traitors. (I didn't watch the show so know nothing else about her)
The 3rd candidate to be revealed was:
Sir Steve Redgrave.
Steve is well known as an Olympic rower who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games from 1984 to 2000. He has also won three Commonwealth Games gold medals and nine World Rowing Championships golds. He is the most successful male rower in Olympic history, and the only man to have won gold medals at five Olympic Games in an endurance sport.
The 4th Contestant is :
Sam Aston.
Sam plays Chesney Brown in Coronation Street. He's been in the show for a long time.
Apparently all the contestants start training next week for 2 hours a day. Steve said they are banned from the ice until they start training.
There are a total of 12 contestants.

Thanks @Cleoriff for the DOI 2025 thread.
Great to see the show is coming back in the New Year.
I well remember Sam as Chesney in Corrie, and of course Olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave.
Don`t watch TOWIE and didn`t see The Traitors so know nothing about those two.
Look forward to seeing who will be joining them.

So many of these Towie folk are getting their own Reality shows on ITV, it's ridiculous!
The Traitors did get recorded in this house as my son watched it. He thought the last episode was so good he asked me to watch it. I know Mollie had put her faith in one guy not being a Traitor. He was and walked away with all the prize money of £93,000.
However, she was contestant out of 12, unknown before the Traitors, so hardly a celeb!

5th Contestant
Charlie Brooks
Charlie is an actress in Eastenders playing Janine Butcher.
Charlie says she's keen to learn and hopefully avoid breaking a leg!

6th Contestant
Josh Jones.
Josh is a comedian who has appeared at The Comedy Club and 8 out of 10 cats.
7th Contestant
Anton Ferdinand
Anton is an ex footballer and football pundit. He is also the younger brother of Rio Ferdinand.
Five more to be announced. They certainly aren't making a big fanfare announcing these 'celebrities'
I had to look for the last two. Found them in the Radio Times tonight 🙄

Any wagers on Steve Redgrave (legendary Olympian) will retire early with back injury?
Goodness, Sam Aston is the same Chesney since I last saw an episode of Coronation Street when he was a young boy? Wow. Job for life. Hoping he doesn't turn into another Gail Platt with the Corrie fanbase voting for him every week.
Charlie Brooks ticks the box of "I've seen her on TV" and her evil alter ego Janine. Oooh just for fun and conspiracy theory inbound, here's the famous scene from Eastenders with Barry:
and the theory: This is from just about 20 years ago and Sean Williamson has not done Strictly or DOI so a strong contender to be a contestant to throw in a bit of spice. Probably won't happen but you never know.
Ferne McCann: well no idea but apparently has a bus drivers licence according to wikipedia. Exit by the rear door by week 3.
Mollie Pearce: Not being personal but since when does a contestant on a quiz show get classed as a celeb? A bit of research shows she's the disability contestant with a good agent.
Another shoulder shrug for Josh Jones so being an alleged comedian, he's obviously doing the rounds to get exposure for another gig on TV before he fades into obscurity on Dave. Or U&Dave as its now known for some reason.
Didn't realise Anton Ferdinand was 39! Not exactly a football career that went far (unless you count St, Mirren) but that's the case for a lot of players. Shall be interested to see if he's got more than a sliding tackle move.
But will Holly be returning given a certain Schofield is on the tv flagging down Ferne McCann's bus to throw Holly under. Ooooh pre show scandal 🤔 Or throw Cat Deeley in there as she might be looking for a new job...

Funnily enough I watched the 3 episodes of Philip Schofields Castaway programme.
Enjoyed it a lot. Interesting to hear the real story about his sacking. (well his real story anyway)
Apparently it was to do with his brothers criminal activities and being sent to jail. The 'encounter' with the 21 year old young chap was the 'icing' on the ITV cake.
I never really came to terms with his sacking if honest. I liked the bloke. ITV built him up and without much warning, destroyed his career. I can think of a few more people who did worse than him and are still in the TV/film limelight. He said, being sacked for something his brother did was unbelievable. ITV said 'It was bad for the show.
@sheepdog....funny you mention him throwing Holly under the bus. This was an expression PS used a lot during his 3 day programme.... ie the amount of people who he classed as friends, who queued up to throw HIM under the bus when he was sacked. One of those was obviously Holly as she hasn't been in touch with him since he left ITV.
Anyway back to DOI. Never heard of Josh. His CV seems a bit thin!
I was still watching Eastenders when Janine pushed Barry off the cliff, although I stopped watching it years ago.
Unless the last 5 contestants are high flying celebs, I think this is the worst line up I can remember.
I wasn't sure it would be back as Torville and Dean have officially retired now. Also, how long can we keep flogging Bolero? 😂

4 more Celebs revealed today.
CHELSEE HEALEY. Actress from Waterloo Road and Hollyoaks
She is the 8th Contestant.
9th DAN EDGAR from TOWIE
10th Contestant CHRIS TAYLOR.
Reality star, appeared on Love Island and had a short cameo appearance in the film Barbie
11th Contestant.
MICHAELA STRACHAN TV Presenter. Springwatch, Really Really Wild Show. Now lives in South Africa.
Apparently Michaela, now 56, has been asked twice before to do the show and refused. She states she wishes now that she had done it earlier!
So we have one more to go. Poor group really. I don't know anyone from Towie or Love Island as I've never watched either show.

Cheesey Healy from Strictly 2011. Wow. That long ago. High hopes or just no hope?
Dan Edgar & Chris Taylor? So lets just rename the show to TOW-ICE or Celebrity Love Ice-land. There, guaranteed two jokes for Stephen Mulherne for free.
Michela Strachan: been around on TV for ages and ages. So lets check out some interesting facts on her wikipedia page:
1) She's a gurning champion. World champion.
2) She's allergic to elephants.
3) She's had 2 really forgettable chart hits peaking at number 62 in the UK in 1989. As a bonus and not forgetting the atrocious cult show "Hit Man & Her" here it is. Extra bonus because it was so 1989, it features the added cheese of Sonia at the beginning. If you're lucky, youtube may start Sonia's 1989 hit! Or maybe that reveals a little too much of my youtube viewing habits 🤣
BTW, I think we all agree its not a patch on Edwin Starr's original hit.
Well, here's the other single you never knew existed:
Oh dear 😂 someone has put most of the episodes of "Hitman and Her" as a playlist on youtube. Lets just say it is an interesting snapshot of late night television of the time that might prove more fun than watching this series of DOI.
