The BBC have announced that two patients in the UK have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.
No further details have been given other than they are both members of the same family and are receiving specialist NHS care.

At present, 83 Britons and 27 foreign nationals are flying back to the UK from Wuhan, the Chinese city at the centre of the outbreak.
The flight is due to land at RAF Brize Norton at 13:30 GMT.
The UK passengers will then be taken to Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral and quarantined for two weeks.

This little article, on the difference in AstraZeneca, AZ, and the Pfizer Biotech and Moderns vaccines I found an interesting read.
It's been a long time since I studied the ways in which DNA and mRNA are made and used in the human body, perhaps, with a cup of tea and a biccie this morning, it can help dispel any of the rubbish 'opinion' you may have heard on Social Media about the vaccinations:

I'll read the article later @pgn
I'm slightly more concerned about the rate the Omnicron variant is spreading. May seem selfish but living day by day wondering if or when this government are going to slap more rules about Christmas into the mix. As a family, we are booked for a meal on Boxing day. Last year we had to cancel. Hoping it's not the same this year.

They don't, won't, can't plan, @Cleoriff - almost 100% reaction; it's no way to lead anything, let alone a country. If they'd had their act together, they'd have been world-leading - schools, NHS, livelihoods - all wasted, squandered, with nowt but platitudes. And inflation rising, cost of goods rising, energy rising, what were, what are they thinking?

I don't know what to think anymore, like most people I've had two vaccinations and I'm due for another one on Saturday - So that's three vaccinations this year. If two vaccinations are not enough, I don't see what another one of the same type is going to do against a new variant, seems like a lot of guesswork to me (And panic maybe?)
The government is telling everybody not to go out and mix, but at the same to carry on as normal. It's a total mess of a situation imo.
I can see another lock-down coming in January, I think it's inevitable.
@Cleoriff You can have cold meat and pickles on Boxing Day.

Lovely idea about cold meat and pickles @Anonymous 😂 The problem is, that's our family 'Christmas Day'.
On the 25th, Ray and I will be at home and eating steak and chips for lunch. Boxing Day we have a Christmas meal booked at our local carvery. So not a day for cold meat and pickles really. Lol

Everyone seems to be coming down with the cold or flu at the moment , as people haven't built up the usual immunity to it, added to the fact that we are testing 1.6million people a day (why) no wonder the numbers are up.
And Covid is part of the same family as the cold and the flu.
I haven't seen one of my cousins and her daughter for 2 years and we are off for a meal on Saturday, and we are all triple vaccinated, and flu jabbed (and a couple have even had there pneumonia jab) so no chance we are missing out this year...

Well, this is a fine kettle of fish, given the lack of lateral flow kits for distribution to households...

I had the initial 2 x AstraZeneca vaccinations ... then ... Pfizor booster with flu jab at the same time ... it was what I wanted. I was ill on and off for a week after ... I am confused as to the information which Downing Street put out ... I don't take much notice what is put out on Social Media ..... I get my news on BBC Radio Four & am not that daft that I can't spot any bias there purports to be.
Sorry you have Covid @jonsie ... = ... wishing you a sustained recovery soonest xx
