Welcome to the Boxing Day 2025 Brain Teaser

The Brain Teaser is open to all members of the 02 Community.

Those wishing to take part must pm [private message] me [@Mi-Amigo] with their answers between

       10 am today [Fri 26 Dec 2025] and 10 pm Mon 29 Dec 2025

so those who are busy or out-and-about will have a chance to join in.

Please DO NOT post answers on the thread.

Q2  Which of the following words is the odd one out

              REWARD    DEPART    REFIND     REPAIR

 

Q3  What phrase does the following represent

Q4  Joe went for a walk and it started raining. Joe did not have a hat, an umbrella or anything to cover

       his head, but not a single hair of his head got wet.

       How was this possible ?

 

Q5  Alice; Brenda;  Chloe; Debbie are the first four people in the queue outside a shop for Boxing Day Sale.

       Alice is NOT first or fourth in the queue. Brenda is third in the queue. Chloe is in front of Debbie.

       In what order - from 1st to 4th - are the four girls in the queue ?

        How is this possible ?

Q2  Which of the following words is the odd one out

A2  DEPART - the other words all start with letter R

 

Q3  What phrase does the following represent

             6  g  n  i  o  g  a m  

A3  going back in time. Quizzers answers, although not strictly correct, were close so I`ll accept as correct.

I'm very pleased and surprised.

As @Mi-Amigo said, it was easy to overthink Q2. First I tried to reverse each word and that didn't work so I went for the 'easy' option eventually.

I came late to this so just read through them

 

Q2 I thought REFIND was the odd one out

It was the only one that you couldn't make past tense by adding ED at the end so I'm claiming that as a moral victory

The rest I got correct
