Hi all 😑😣😥😫😕🤧!

Don't let my sad and anxiety looking emojis fool you, I'm very happy to be posting. The reason I use those emojis above is because today is Blue Monday

'Blue Monday is the name given to a day in January (typically the third Monday of the month) said by a UK travel company, Sky Travel, to be the most depressing day of the year. The concept was first published in a 2005 press release from the company, which claimed to have calculated the date using an "equation"'

You can read more on Wikipedia.

Now, this is likely just complete pseudoscience! And there is no reason to believe it is the most depressing day of the year. But, even though, the date has entered British pop culture and many people are aware of it. So, I thought we may as well try and combat the day with some happiness.

Here are some questions, suggestions and more to make sure you're happy, but also to share happiness with others:

Suggestions

  1. Share your feelings with friends and/or relatives 🤗
  2. Do something kind for someone else (give a gift/compliment)
  3. Think of the things you like about yourself
  4. Can't fix something? Then forget it
  5. Spend less time on social media, but stay connected with those who matter
  6. Exercise or try and get some fresh air when possible 👟
  7. Put on your favourite song, film, TV or a book you love 📖
  8. Do something creative with your time 🖌
  9. Live in the now and not in the past or future
  10. Treat yourself! Book something to look forward to

Questions

  1. What brings you fulfilment?
  2. What activities bring you joy?
  3. What is a happy memory?
  4. Did something happen this week that made you happy?
  5. Does participating in communities help you?
  6. What foods and drinks make you happy?
  7. What songs, films, TV or books make you happy?
  8. Who makes you happy?
  9. What are you looking forward to in 2022?
  10. What positive sentimental items do you own?

I hope some of the suggestions and questions above can be taken on board or answered. Hopefully, a faux day like today is not triggering for anyone either 😊. I like to think about how we all care about each other in this community.

And of course, if you'd like to listen to a song whilst writing your answers/reply, I'm sure @pgn would be happy with me suggesting a Youtube-embedded song 😉.

Great suggestion, @lewys-gp - and the track too, yes!

I found this, prompted by a static one I saw on an avatar earlier here:

My son had a Rubik's cube ... neither of us could get it as it should be ... but it was fun trying

Lots of good stuff in the original post on this thread ..... the Moody Blues have been a favourite band of mine for many years ... I am unable to post the vid of Blue Guitar by Justin Hayward, but it's his lyrical haunting voice in this song which gives me goosebumps and makes me feel good say when feeling somewhat 'down' or 'under the Winter grey weather' I am listening to it now X  X
