Just thought I would add another rubbish2.jpg

Fence%20post.jpg

This place has gotten a whole lot worse lately, part's of this board are turning in to a social media forum full of non related rubbish & link's being posted just so users post counts go higher, carry on like this & it will be as bad as the Giff Gaff forum!

I know im a happy ex O2 customer, looking at the state of this forum it would certainly put me of ever rejoining.

(1) Why not publish that formula and so end all the speculation?

(2) Why not cease these unnecessary payments altogether?  There is absolutely no need or justification for them.

Hi Gerry,

We will not publish the formula, as this would leave the system open to abuse;  Can't be a very good formula in that case!

[snipped] If you would like to be omitted from the rewards sytem too, let me know via private message.  I thought I had already done so on at least 2 occasions, but if that was misunderstood I am happy to make it clear now that I have no wish to be included in the "rewards system" thanks.

Why do forum users need to a reward to post here? It doesn't work over on the Giff Gaff forum & it doesn't work here either. Scrap the rewards program altogether & the mindless threads & posts will soon stop.

The rewards system gets abused by some because you've introduced a monetary reward. What's wrong with a simple 'thank you'? Why does there have to be money involved? What you've done is create a platform for greed.

This forum existed quite happily for years before the reward was introduced, and many people who were the backbone of this forum have left because the rewards created a competetive atmosphere, where quantity not quality was the main algorithm.

There are some who don't abuse the system though and it is nice to get a reward each month for the efforts put in genuinely helping people out.
The problem with the system is the way the rewards are calculated or perceived to be calculated.

Then the system by which the rewards are calculated needs to be altered. In my opinion, it's turned some people who contribute here into petty little money grabbers.

Hi @MI5 Yes it is certainly nice to be appreciated  but "to get a reward each month for the efforts put in " smacks more of a "wage"  than a reward system (though I am sure you are worth every penny of it and I do not begrudge it!)

I am happy to receive any rewards but only if they are deserved. But as I said earlier, I was more than happy to be a member for 4 years with the odd bar of bubbled chocolate thrown in.
The biggest reward on the community is to be appreciated and the loan devices are more than enough of a perk to be a member.
Make it less compete. ...just the top 10 'deservees' as worked out by the formula and give them all £20. I promise you that some are purely motivated by the monetary aspect and notice the pile of inane threads and posts as the days roll on to month end, whether they are included in the said formula or not.

Perhaps a better reflection of contributors' worth and their usefulness to those who come here seeking help with real or perceived technical problems would be a properly merited and evaluated system of designation.  You may well be a valuable RELIC, sir, but equally you may be a load of rusty old iron - your designation says nothing about your knowledge, experience, reliablity or fitness to comment or advise on technical issues.  It is high time these ridiculous labels were removed and replaced with something more meaningful.
