I had the same problem and went into file explorer and deleted the crap that downloaded when i sideloaded an apk. I still had the download from unknown souces ticked but sorted now thankfully.

Cards are just related to Google Now which I use and don't give me any problems.

Google now cards weren't my problem definitely. I had to go through the files and delete those responsible.

File explorer is very confusing to me @jonsie .. wouldn't know where to start looking for those cards lol. I deleted everything new from the last 2 weeks but it's gone now thank god lol . I looked around and those battery status false lockscreen ads are common..and just stupidly annoying lol x
