HI, I do not receive a code sent to my phone number to log into my O2 priority account
In the past I was Virgin Media customer and since then haven't changed my SIM - could that be an issue?

It could be the issue.
Quickest way to get a new O2 sim is go instore with ID. They will swap everything over for you.
